Hi, I'm Betty, ✨
a millennial, a pastor's wife since 2009, and a mom of six children (3 boys and 3 girls, in that order!). The kids tease me for spending all of my free time either reading or sleeping, although I do play piano and sing every once in a while. Live music is the best music, and I LOVE Broadway!
As you can already tell, I enjoy parentheses, em-dashes, semi-colons, exclamation points, and sparkles ✨ I've been reading since I was four years old, and genuinely love all books. I don't discriminate against genres, but my top 5 are literary fiction, contemporary fiction, biography/memoir, horror/thriller/mystery, and theology—not necessarily in that order!
Church is our community and our life. Find us at Christ Community Church in Sterling Heights!
I used to feel like my main goal with reading was to learn and retain as much new information as possible. Now, I approach reading in a much more relaxed way, knowing that—
1. the right books will find me when I need to read them
2. making connections across multiple disciplines is much more fun than trying to retain everything
3. every story I read will shape my heart and remind me in some way of the good, the beautiful, and the true, which in turn points me back to loving and glorifying God (the first and best storyteller!)
I'm so happy you're here ✨
xoxo, Betty
